Introduction
Transient Plane Source Method (TPS)is invented by a Sweden Scientist Dr. Silas Gustafsson in 1991. The draft version of an international standard for TPS is firstly issued in 2008, and it is updated in 2022.
Model A-20 Thermal Constants Analyzer is one of the most advanced TPS instruments manufactured by FOREDA, which can measure almost all types of organic/inorganic materials and some metals/metal alloys commonly used in the industries or daily life.
Properties
-
Three parameters, thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, and volumetric heat capacity can be obtained with one single test
-
Test is done in seconds without balancing the electrical bridge;
-
Test Data can be saved in Excel format for further applications;
-
Software can be run in any Windows computer for off-line data analysis;
-
Very large thermal conductivity range: almost all kinds of materials can be tested;
-
Applicable for all kinds of specimens: solid, liquid, gas, powders, colloid, anisotropic; or cylindrical, triangle, films, slabs, etc.;
-
Specimens Easily prepared: only one flat surface is required;
-
Absolute measurement without calibration;
-
Possibly very large temperature range: - 270 ~ 1000℃.
