Tianjin Friend Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech instrument enterprise established in March 2006 by overseas returnees who have studied abroad. It integrates research, development, production, and sales. The company's main products are thermal characteristic detection instruments, including thermal constant analyzers based on transient planar heat source method (Hot Disk or TPS) and steady-state thermal conductivity testers using protective hot plate method. Both of these types of instruments are at the forefront of international standards.

The Transient Plane Source Method (TPS), also known as Hot Disk, is a technique and method developed by Professor Silas Gustafsson, a scientist at Chalmer University of Technology in Sweden, for analyzing and measuring the thermal properties of materials. The TPS method has been approved by the International Organization for Standardization as an international standard (Plastics Determination of thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity, Part 2: Transient plane heat source (hot disc) method, ISO 22007-2:2015). China has also begun to implement corresponding national standards, namely the "Transient Plane Heat Source Test Method for Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Diffusion Coefficient of Building Materials" (GB/T 32064-2015). The main users of this type of instrument include research institutes, various material production enterprises and users, as well as quality inspection departments at the national and local levels.

The steady-state protection hot plate method thermal conductivity tester complies with the national protection plate method thermal conductivity measurement standard GB/T10294-2008 (Determination of steady-state thermal resistance and related characteristics of insulation materials) and the international standard ISO/DIS 8302-1991. The thermal conductivity tester includes more than ten types of products in two major categories: D300FX series and DD series. The main users of this type of instrument include national and local quality inspection departments, research institutes, insulation material production enterprises, and user units.

The TPS transient plane heat source method thermal constant analyzer and the steady-state method protective hot plate method thermal conductivity tester have both received funding from the innovation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission for small and medium-sized enterprises.
